This handmade porcelain tokkuri sake set is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Japanese ceramic sake set.

This handmade porcelain sake set is crafted to elevate the ritual of sharing a drink. The set includes a traditional tokkuri sake carafe and four matching cups, all wheel-thrown by hand in fine porcelain.

Each piece is finished with a polished, silky smooth surface, creating a refined tactile experience that feels as thoughtful in the hand as it appears on the table.

Designed for those who appreciate craftsmanship and modern design, this ceramic tokkuri sake set transforms an everyday moment into a quiet ritual of connection and celebration.

Unique Artistic Detail

Each vessel is decorated with the hand-drawn soundwave of a loon’s call, carefully illustrated with underglaze pencil. This subtle pattern captures a fleeting moment of birdsong from the natural world, turning sound into form.

The result is a minimalist design that blends nature, art, and contemporary ceramic craftsmanship.

A Functional Piece of Art

This handmade ceramic sake set brings together thoughtful design, tactile craftsmanship, and the quiet beauty of nature—perfect for sharing sake during slow evenings and meaningful gatherings.

All sizes are approximate as these are thrown by hand. The cups are thrown off the 'hump'.,which is a way of throwing small items off one large lump of clay. This creates small variations in size giving each cup a unique look and feel.

Each piece is finished by hand and marked with the maker’s stamp as a quiet signature of its origin in the studio.

Is it food safe?

All areas where food and drink will be placed are glazed and are food safe, unless it is an ornamental piece and states otherwise.

Is it really Dishwasher proof

Technically yes, if I have written it is dishwasher proof in the product description, then it is.

But bear in mind dishwasher detergents are extremely caustic in nature, and so there may be some change to the glaze over a long period of time (as is also the case with commercially manufactured dishes).

A lot of my products are delicate and all of them are handmade, so we advise on the more delicate items to limit dishwasher use.
